The Water Works Board of the City of Fayette, Alabama was incorporated on May 17, 1947. It’s focus was to acquire, construct, operate, maintain, improve and extend a water works plant or plants and system or systems and any part or parts thereof in the City of Fayette and surrounding areas. The Board is governed by a board of Directors that consists of five members who are appointed by the governing body of the City of Fayette.
The Board and its employees strive to provide a highly reliable supply of potable water used for drinking, irrigation, fire protection and other purposes. All of our water is sourced from the Luxapillia Creek and treated at the Covin Surface water treatment plant.
The Board provides direct water service to the citizens of the incorporated area of the City of Fayette and it’s immediate unincorporated surrounding area. Currently the board has approximately 2,800 customers.
